Dual-Sport or Ultimate Twisty road bike. Fresh 10K Service. #6207800 1984 BMW R80ST Red. the aluminum is clean and bright. '84 R80ST. Originally conceived as a street version of their very popular R80GS it was truly a bike before itâ s time. the bike is very stock and original except for the rear subframe which has been powdercoated instead of painted. the dual sport tires are showing some wear but still have good safe life in them. the fuel cap does not have a key (itâ s unlocked). If that road is patched and lumpy and full of potholes no problem! the rear monoshock handles it with ease! We have just finished going over the bike front to back making sure everything is straight and perfect. We also just performed the BMW Factory Recommended 10 000 mile service early because the bike had been in storage for several years. the bike has a pair of ignition keys and another pair for the seat lock. the exhaust is in very good condition. With street tires it makes a very torquey twisty road bike that is an absolute blast to ride. 1984 BMW R80ST SOLD..... the paint is bright and shiny but there are a few scratches and pinstripe wear. the carbs were cleaned and rebuilt and new floats and float needles installed. the longer suspension makes the bike glide on the highway yet it will handle the worst of roads with comfort and ease. We have just finished a Major 10K service plus MUCH more! We changed the rear main seal and the oil pump cover Oâ ring. We replaced the Pushrod tube seals on both sides and installed all new gaskets on the motor top end. the carbs got new rubber boots on the carb to head and also the air tube to air box connections. the front wheel bearings were serviced and new seals installed. As soon as weather permits we will be putting on some extended test ride miles; so far the 175 miles we have ridden the bike (BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!) it was perfect. We replaced the cam chain slide rail and tensioner and resealed the front timing cover. the bike is very clean and correct! the aluminum is bright the chrome and paint shiny! A VERY NICE example of a very rare BMW. New BMW optional accordion fork boots were installed to permanently keep dirt out of the new seals. New shifter bearing and bushing. A new oil pressure sensor was installed. New Tires major rehab & more! 34 463 Miles 6207868 1984 BMW R80ST Red. New rear brake shoes were installed and the brake actuator cam updated to the newer 4 oâ ring type to prevent leaks. It would be the perfect commuter or back roads exploration bike. This bike is seriously fun to ride! Its light weight and shorter wheelbase make it totally effortless to flick back and forth through the twisty corners or through stopped traffic. There are 2 keys that fit the ignition fork lock and fuel cap lock. the gearing makes it accelerate very quickly. the EGR system has been removed and a blockoff kit was installed. A new sealed battery was installed with new rubber hold down straps and a battery charger quick connect cord installed. the front master cylinder was replaced and the system flushed with fresh brake fluid. New original Continental braided cloth covered fuel line was installed. the front fork was removed and disassembled and cleaned and new seals were installed. New Dunlop tires were installed and balanced front and rear. New steering head bearings were installed. New transmission throwout arm bearing and bushing. There are 3 more keys to fit the seat lock (it was replaced). New spark plugs and new spark plug caps and wires were installed. We cleaned and reinstalled the clutch and lubed the clutch splines. New Tires and Much More! Just finished major rehab on entire bike. There is a tool tray with an original BMW tool kit. Has key and all locks but fuel cap lock catch is broken ( turns but will not lock). There is no tool tray or tool kit. Before we sell this bike we will clean the carburetors and then start the motor and perform a compression check to insure there are no major problems with the motor. the Transmission is out but everything is there. Wheels are straight. the Corbin Dual Sport seat needs the cover repaired in the front and the rear latch tab is missing. the title is free and clear NOT salvage. the rear subframe has a well done weld on the right just behind the angle brace (see photos). the exhaust is in very good condition. the engine smoothes out even more the faster you go and the bike never wants to wobble. With Dual purpose tires it is an excellent bad road / back road / fire trail bike with 6.7â ground clearance it easily handles minor obsticales yet itâ s not so tall that you need to be 6â 4â to put both feet down
